Stakeout

About

Stakeout ranks products by one number: what they've paid in the last 24 hours. That's the whole algorithm. No follower counts, no upvotes to farm, no reviews to game — an open auction for attention, with every price visible to everyone.

It's built and run by a solo indie hacker who wanted a ranking system with no hidden variables: what you pay is what you rank, in the open, updated live.

Rank is bought. Your position is the total you've spent in the trailing 24 hours — a rolling window, not a daily reset. A payment made at 3pm today stops counting at 3pm tomorrow. Every payment also adds permanently to the all-time board, which never decays.

Every country and every category has its own #1, and most of them start uncontested — that's the cheap way in. The global board is the expensive one: it's where all of those leaders compete against each other.

Free listings are allowed too — they rank below every paid listing on their country page, with no spot on the homepage or the globe. Paying is what buys visibility, not existence.

Minimum bid is $5. Payments stack — five $10 payments and one $50 payment rank identically.
